About Us
The African Heritage Association (AHA) serves as the parent organization of the St. Louis African Arts Festival. The Festival provides the community at large access to the richness of African culture and its impact on western culture. We achieve our mission by creating an African village atmosphere that engenders fellowship among attendees and exposes them to African culture through educational and entertaining activities. Activities include African art, dance, jewelry making, drumming, mask-making, an African marketplace and authentic hairbraiding.
In addition, the AHA provides educational programs, musical concerts, guest speakers, and other sources of information about the African Diaspora with a goal to inform and share with the St. Louis community. Our partners and supporters are some of St. Louis’s premier cultural and educational institutions, including the Saint Louis Zoo, the Saint Louis Art Museum, Washington University, and The Muny.
The African Heritage Association of St. Louis, Inc. was established in 1995.
It is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization governed by it’s Board of Directors.
